Pusat Pemberdayaan dan Perlindungan Perempuan dengan Pendekatan Arsitektur Hijau di Medan Denai
Abstract
The phenomenon of violence against women is an alarming reality and it
still frequently occurs in social life. The 2021 Women's Life Experience Survey
(SPHPN) stated that 1 in 4 women aged 15-64 in Indonesia experienced physical
or sexual violence including discrimination during their lifetime. The impact of
violence against women will be very detrimental to many aspects, both physically
and emotionally for the victims. In addition to the government's efforts, there is a
need for support and assistance for women who are victims of violence.
Suar Rahayu: Center for Empowerment and Protection of Women is a plan
to design a place that can become a place to play an active role in supporting
women victims of violence by providing protection, empowerment, and moral
support for them to be able to improve the quality and role of women through
educational, economic and social activities with a green architectural design
approach. Green architecture is an approach to building design that focuses on
environmental sustainability and human health. By considering the efficient use of
natural resources, sustainable water management, environmental quality, and
integration of buildings with their environmental context, green architecture seeks
to create buildings that are environmentally friendly, energy efficient, and
contribute to a better quality of life, and can answer the challenges of future
architectures to consider human well-being and ecosystem well-being on the
design
