dc.description.abstract | In a grounding system, there is a strong expectation that the grounding system will function properly against various disturbances, including voltage variations and transient currents that must be transported and supplied to the ground. Due to the uncertain natural conditions of the frequency and location of lightning strikes, it is necessary to analyze transient disturbances in the substation grounding system due to lightning strikes with a varied area of the substation. Disturbances due to lightning surges result in a sudden rise in voltage. The substation has various types of equipment that are sensitive to disturbances which cause a decrease in the performance of the distribution of electric power. Therefore, a security system is needed to prevent damage to equipment due to lightning strikes. In this study discusses the effect of transient disturbances at substations due to lightning surges. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of the external grounding area of the substation on the values of resistance, inductance, capacitance, touch voltage and step voltage and ground potential rise due to lightning strikes. The parameters used are verified using an application through Labview 2017. The research results in the form of an application consisting of block diagrams and panel diagrams are designed to facilitate the calculation of large amounts of data and the possibility of repeated calculations. | en_US |
