Medan City is one of the historical cities in Indonesia that was once colonized by the Dutch, one of the areas controlled by the Dutch was the Kesawan area. Many colonial buildings in Kesawan must be preserved. One of them is the Warenhuis building which is currently abandoned. Indonesia has a wealth of diverse arts and culture, such as painting, dance, sculpture, sculpture, and others. The city of Medan itself is very attached to a variety of arts and culture. To introduce and showcase the wealth of art in the city of Medan to the public and newcomers, an art center is needed. The purpose of designing this arts center is to provide space for the community to study and demonstrate the arts, as well as to preserve cultural heritage buildings as regional identities. The method used in designing the Warenhuis building is EBD (evidence-based design). EBD is carried out by comparing existing data and field design practices, then being analyzed again to collect scientific evidence which is then used in the design. The art center that will be designed focuses on performance art, namely music, dance, and theater.en_US
