As the largest archipelagic country, Indonesia's sea area reaches 70% of the total area of Indonesia. With such a large sea area, it should be used as one of the main economic sources for the people of Indonesia. Based on the facts in the field, it is known that the main problem for fishermen is the high operational costs of fuel oil (BBM) needed when going to sea, while the fish catch they get is uncertain. In addition, energy is one of the issues currently faced by Indonesia and even the world, because of the imbalance between energy availability and its needs. Another issue is global warming, where Indonesia at the 2015 Climate Change Summit in Paris, France (COP21) has committed to reduce emissions along with other countries. The potential for utilizing new and renewable energy for power generation on ships is very promising. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, the total electricity production generated in the PLTS-PLTD hybrid system per year is 5,064 kWh/year. Where the contribution of PLTS electrical energy production to the PLTH system is 65.5% or 3,319 kWh/year. Meanwhile, PLTD is 34.5% or 1,745 kWh/year. The excess energy for a year is 775 kWh/year. Fuel consumption in this system is 834 L/year with a reduction percentage of 67%. With a planning study of a hybrid power generation system (PV and diesel generator) using the HOMER software, it aims to save fuel and exhaust emissions on fishing boats owned by fishermen at Pelabuhan Perikanan Samudera (PPS) Belawan.en_US
