    Abstract
    Insulator reliability is important to support the distribution of electric power, with insulator material used in distribution networks in the form of pin-post insulators. the function of the insulator can be reduced due to natural influences such as pollutants and rain. So an additional insulating material is needed which is used to coat (coating) the insulator. The insulating material used in this study is a mixture of Epoxy resin and SiO2 made from diglycidyl ether of bisphenol-A (DGEBA) as a base material, metaphenylene diamine (MPDA) as a hardener and Silicon dioxide (SiO2). This study was conducted to determine how much influence the coating material mixture has on the leakage current value and flashover voltage value on the insulator. The results showed that the Leakage Current in the condition of the NaCl solvent condition insulator was in the range of 0.029 mA - 0.035 mA, in the condition of the NaCl + solvent condition insulator in the rain was in the range of 0.0572 mA - 0. 6403 mA, in the condition of the insulator in the rain is in the range of 0.0550 mA- 0.3023 mA, in the condition of the CaCO3-colluted insulator is in the range of 0.01984 mA - 0.0511 mA, in the condition of the CaCO3-colluted insulator and in the rain is in the range of 0.0173 mA- 0.2426 mA. In the highest Flashover voltage results, epoxy resin coating and SiO2 are able to increase the flashover voltage to a voltage of 74.94 kV.
