dc.description.abstract | Environmental pollution caused by soil, water and air pollution is increasingly
complex. Water pollution caused by various industrial activities, hospitals and domestic
waste is increasing from year to year. Liquid waste will be discharged directly into
waterways such as ditches, rivers and even oceans, which can damage the environment.
Electrical disinfection is one of the efficient methods. One way to overcome the problem
of water pollution is to use high voltage. A high voltage direct current is connected by two
electrodes spaced apart from each other. By passing air into the contaminated liquid waste
through two electrodes excited by a high voltage source. The high voltage generator
produced uses a flyback transformer, which is controlled by PWM and frequency drivers,
while the corona discharge plasma reactor is built with a two-electrode geometry in the
reactor tube. The test results obtained for high-voltage equipment produce voltages that
vary from 0 volts to 50 kilo Volts, while the PWM and frequency drivers obtain a frequency
of 152.4 kilo Hz. Purification of liquid waste with high voltage has been shown to have an
effect, changes in voltage have affected a decrease in pH, TSS, BOD, COD and the color
of liquid waste as evidenced by a pH level of 7.49, a TSS level of 2, a BOD level of 24.2
mg/l, and COD of 46.5 mg/l. | en_US |
