    Abstract
The development of plastic scraping machines for the management of plastic garbage is an important thing to pay attention to, considering plastic waste is one of the big environmental problems today. One of the companies that manufactures plastic grinding machines is CV. The Star Umroh Engineering. In this context, there are problems associated with the actual design of the machine, namely the question of the uncertainty of time and the cost of production expected with actual events. The amount of time and cost of production on the product is due to the production activity on the upper body components of the machinery, the lower body of the Machinery and the shaft of the machine. Developments and innovations in actual engine design are needed to reduce production time and costs and contribute to the efficient management of plastic waste. Design for Cost (DFC) and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA). Identification of problems in this research is carried out using the Quality Function Deployment Analysis method to obtain components that must be repaired immediately, namely the upper body, the lower body of the machine and the tool of the knife (couples). The result of the design proposal selected was the first concept variant (VK1) with a weight of 90%, when compared to the actual design, the design of the proposal experienced an improvement in design efficiency by 14.3%, a reduction in production time by 16.4% and a savings in total production costs of 17.4%. These results show that design improvements using DFMA and DFC integration provide optimum outcomes in terms of cost, production time and increased efficiency of the resulting proposal design so that it can address the uncertainty of time and production costs experienced by the company exceeding the expected target.
