    Abstract
(Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff) Boerl.) is known as one of the medicinal plants in Indonesia. Almost all parts of the plant have chemical content that is useful for medicine. used as medicine. The use of (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff.) Boerl. plants is increasingly being developed by the community for various treatments, one of which is the treatment of burns. Burns are a form of tissue damage and loss where there is contact with sources such as fire, hot water, electricity, and radiation at high temperatures. A number of studies have shown that traditional plants have potential as burn healing agents, one of which is the fruit of (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff) Boerl. Furthermore, the research conducted an antibacterial activity test using ethanol extract of (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff). Boerl. flesh to determine the effect of giving ethanol extract of P. macrocarpa (Scheff). Boerl. against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The ethanol extract of (Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff) Boerl. flesh with the best antibacterial activity was formulated into a gel dosage form with concentration variants F1 (10%), F2 (15%), and F3 (20%). The ethanol extract of Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff) Boerl. meat was then evaluated for organoleptic, homogeneity, pH, viscosity, spreadability, and centrifugation tests. The burn test was conducted on 24 male rats divided into 6 test groups: positive control, negative control, F1 (10%), F2 (15%), F3 (20%), and gel base. Observations were made macroscopically and microscopically. All formulas were organoleptically stable, homogeneous, centrifugated, pH ranged from 6.09–6.01, and viscosity ranged from 3034–3477 cPs on the antibacterial activity test. Wounds treated with F3 and positive control healed on day 19, F2 on day 21, F1 on day 23, gel base on day 24, and negative control on day 26. There were significant differences in collagen density and epidermal thickness between the F1, F2, and F3 groups and the negative control. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the gel preparation of an ethanol extract of Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff) Boerl.) flesh has a burn wound healing effect on the 19th day of burn area observation, the gel preparation of an ethanol extract of Phaleria macrocarpa (Scheff). Boerl.) flesh is stable during 12 weeks of storage at room temperature, low temperature, and high temperature.
