Pengaruh Transportasi dalam Pengembangan Wilayah terhadap Kesejahteraan Masyarakat Kabupaten Serdang Bedagai

Abstract

Transportation functions as a development support sector and a service provider for regional and economic development. Transportation in regional development is the main support that allows a region to develop. The system of infrastructure and transportation facilities as basic infrastructure is a prerequisite for the occurrence of regional economic movements, where the supporting and driving system of transportation infrastructure plays a very important role in the efficiency and effectiveness of regional economic activities. Transportation can promote economic and community welfare through the creation of road accessibility and the mobility of goods transport will encourage the development of the Serdang Bedagai area which is characterized by the number of facilities and infrastructure, goods or services available and increasing community business activities, both in terms of type, intensity of service. and quality so that it has an impact on the welfare of the community. The research objective is to analyze the effect of transportation on regional development; analyze regional development on community welfare and analyze the influence of infrastructure in the context of regional development affecting the community. This type of research is an associative and explanatory research whose data is obtained through a quantitative research approach. The sample size in the study was 360 respondents by means of probability sampling. The data analysis technique used multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that the two variables of quantity and quality, accuracy and convenience have a significant impact on regional development and other aspects except the qualitative variables on regional development as economic, social and accuracy aspects. Regional development variables also have a significant impact on people's welfare but the social aspect is the income aspect. The development of transportation infrastructure must be increased in quantity, accuracy and ease of travel in the Serdang Bedagai area in increasing regional development in order to improve the welfare of rural communities.
