The global pandemic caused by the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is currently causing havoc in various sectors of global life, such as public health, the economy, and life. Vaccines are biological agents that can provide active protection against specific infectious diseases. The side effects that can be caused by the COVID-19 vaccine are very wide, and the most common side effects are pain, fatigue, and headaches. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the occurrence of side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine and the nutritional status of SMA Negeri 1 Namorambe students, Deli Serdang Regency, North Sumatra Province. This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional study design. The population in this study were all Namorambe 1 Senior High School students who were participants in the COVID-19 vaccination, namely 657 students, the sample in the study was 196 students. The results of the study, namely the most common side effects experienced by research subjects were colds (15,8%), headaches (15,1%), nasal congestion (10,3%), coughs (9,8%), and fever (8,0%). The results of the bivariate analysis found that there was no significant relationship between gender, age group, and nutritional status with the incidence of COVID-19 vaccine side effects (H0, H28, and H60) in Nambore 1 Public High School students (p-value > 0,05). It is necessary to carry out further research on the relationship between nutritional status and the incidence of side effects of the COVID-19 vaccine in adolescents using a larger and heterogeneous population to reduce bias factors.
