dc.description.abstractThe research aims to find out the language function used in COVID-19 vaccine campaign and to find out the element of language function. A descriptive qualitative method was applied in collecting the data im this research. The data collected were from the World Health Organization (WHO) YouTube channel. The thesis used language functions theory by Roman Jacobson in analyzing the data. In this thesis, the researcher found all the types of language function, they are 6 emotive functions, 11 conative functions, 3 phatic functions, 55 referential functions, 2 metalinguistic and 13 poetic functions. The language function that is mostly used in this thesis is the referential function because the amount is 55. The second is poetic function with amount 13, the third is conative function with amount 11, the fourth is emotive function with amount 6, the fifth is phatic function with amount 3 and the last is metalinguistic with amount 2. The elements of language function found six elements which are addresser, context, message, contact, code, addressee. In the addresser found 3 addresser. In the context found 9 context. In the message found 4 message which are minor clause, simple sentence, compound sentence or complex sentence. In the contact found 2 contact. In the code only found 1 language. In the addressee found 1 which is the watcher only.en_US
