    Abstract
    This study aims to find out more about the forms and functions of sarcasm used in conversation in the drama series Yan Xi Palace : Princess Adventures 《延禧攻略: 金枝玉叶》Yán xǐ gōnglüè: Jīnzhīyùyè based on semantic studies. The research method used is descriptive qualitative to analyze research data in the form of sarcasm in the form of words, phrases, sentences and the function of sarcasm contained in the conversation of the drama series. These data were collected by observing and noting method. Based on the data analysis that has been done, the results of the study show that there are 3 forms of sarcasm and 7 out of 10 functions of sarcasm applied by the author, including the form of sarcasm in the form of words (14 data), the form of sarcasm in the form of phrases (5 data), the form of sarcasm in clause (4 data) the form of sarcasm in the form of sentences (7 data). Then for the function of sarcasm as a form of conveying affirmations (9 data), a form of conveying opinions (5 data), a form of conveying similarities (6 data), a form of rejection (2 data), a form of conveying orders (4 data), a form of conveying comparisons (2 data ) and the form of information delivery (2 data). Furthermore, the form of sarcasm that appears most frequently is the sentence, which is as much as (11 data) and the function of sarcasm that appears most often is the form of conveying affirmations, namely as many as (9 data).
