| dc.description.abstract | This research discusses the meaning of Associative meaning in semantic studies. Associative meaning is the meaning possessed by a word with regard to the relationship of the word with the situation outside the language. This associative meaning is actually the symbols used by a society to express a concept. The purpose of this research is to find out the form of associative meaning in the lyrics of the song album by Sal Priadi and the type of associative meaning that is more commonly found in song lyrics of Berhati album by Sal Priadi. The data sources used in this research are 10 song lyrics of Berhati album by Sal Priadi. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. Stage data collection, the researcher used the listening method by using the technique of Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC) technique. At the data analysis stage, the commensurate method with direct element sharing technique. The presentation stage of the data analysis results used informal presentation method. The theory used in this research is Geoffrey Leech's theory of associative meaning. The result of this research shows there are five types of associative meaning as expressed by Leech in the lyrics of Berhati album by Sal Priadi. This research found 15 data of connotative meaning, 3 data of stalistic meaning, 4 data of affective meaning. stalistic meaning, 4 affective meaning, 6 data of collocative meaning, and 6 data of reflective meaning. reflective meaning. In this study, it was also found that connotative meaning is the most dominant type of meaning because it has the most amount of data, namely 15 data. | en_US |
