Analisis Tekstual dan Musikal Komposisi dalam Album Extended Play Karya Inthesky

Abstract

This study aims to carry out textual and musical analysis of the compositions in the Extended Play Album (EP) released by Inthesky. This research uses a qualitative approach with content analysis and music analysis methods. The content analysis method is used to analyze textual aspects in the album composition. The steps in this analysis include: 1) Data collection through in-depth listening and understanding the lyrics of the songs on the album; 2) Identify the main themes, messages, and writing styles used in the lyrics; 3) Coding and categorizing data based on themes, writing style and other relevant elements; 4) Analysis and interpretation of data to reveal the artistic ideas promoted by Inthesky through his lyrics. In addition, music analysis methods are used to examine the musical elements in the album composition. The steps in music analysis include: 1) Indepth understanding of musical elements such as melody, harmony, rhythm, musical structure and use of instruments; 2) Listening and analyzing the songs in the album to identify and note the musical elements used by Inthesky; 3) Interpretation and understanding of the influence and uniqueness of these musical elements in creating the quality of the music in the album. Inthesky's Extended Play album uses a combined approach to literary theory and music analysis. First, analysis of the song texts was carried out by adopting the theory of literary hermeneutics and semiotics. Themes, narratives, and messages in the lyrics are outlined to reveal the meaning of the text. The results of this study are expected to provide an in-depth understanding of the combination of song lyrics, musical composition, and the relationship of meaning between the two in the context of Inthesky "Extended Play" album.
