dc.description.abstractThis research aims to analyze the concepts of Omoiyari and Amae in the manga "Barakamon" by Satsuki Yoshino. Omoiyari is a concept in Japanese culture that portrays empathy, care, and readiness to help others. On the other hand, Amae represents the desire to depend on others, seek protection, and recognition. The approach used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive analysis research design. This thesis identifies and analyzes examples of Omoiyari and Amae found in the storyline, dialogue, and interactions among characters in the manga "Barakamon". The research also involves understanding the cultural context of Japan that underlies these concepts. The findings indicate that both Omoiyari and Amae play significant roles in shaping the dynamics of relationships among characters in the manga "Barakamon". The main character, Handa, and other supporting characters undergo development through interactions involving Omoiyari and Amae. The concept of Omoiyari is conveyed through acts of care, empathy, and support among the characters. Meanwhile, Amae is observed in the character's need for protection, recognition, and dependence on otheren_US
