Deskripsi Manajemen dan Pertunjukan Komunitas “Indonesian Drummers” Sumatera Utara di Kota Medan

Abstract

This thesis is entitled Description of the Management and Performances of the North Sumatra "Indonesian Drummers" Community in Medan City. The main problem is regarding the Performance and Management of the IDM Community. Indonesian Drummer Medan is a drum community founded on April 25 2017 by Ramos, where the community is a forum for the community, especially young people, to share experiences and share knowledge. The establishment of Indonesian Drummer Medan has become a forum for drummers who live in the North Sumatra area to hone their drumming talents and broaden their musical knowledge. The aim of this thesis is to describe the management and musical performances of Indonesian Drummer Medan. The theory used to describe the performance and function of music in the drama "Tanggolam" is the theory put forward by Milton Singer (in the journal of the Indonesian performing arts society, 1996: 164-165). To find out the role of music, the author uses Jamalus's theory: 1) the main elements, namely rhythm, melody, song form/structure and, 2) the elements of expression, namely tempo, dynamics and timbre (1988:7). This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach, data collection is carried out through a process of interviews, observation, documentation, recording and literature study. The results obtained in the performance and management of the Indonesian Drummers Medan community are providing a new color in their performing arts, namely performances that link musical aesthetics to each composition.
