Indonesia is a country that still imports chemicals for daily needs. One of the chemicals imported from abroad is oxalic acid. Oxalic acid is a chemical
compound with the formula C2H2O4 with the systematic name ethanodionic acid. Oxalic acid can be produced through the oxidation of carbohydrates. Indonesia is rich in natural ingridients that contain carbohydrates, which one is sago pulp.
According to statistical data, the production of sago flour in Riau in 2020 will reach 357.815 tons/year. Pengolahan tepung sagu menghasilkan ampas sagu, namun hingga saat ini ampas masih ditumpuk begitu saja dan belum dimamfaatkan secara maksimal. Kandungan pati pada ampas sagu mencapai 65,7% dan sisanya berupa
serat kasar, abu, protein kasar dan air
The preliminary design oxalic acid dihydrate plant using sago pulp as raw material and using the carbohydrate oxidation method is planned to produce wit a capacity of 4.000 tons/year and operate 330 days a year. The factory location is planned to be in Pelintung, Medang Kampai, Dumai, Riau with an area 15.144 m2.
The results of the analysis of te economic aspects obtained are:
• Total Investment capital = Rp 244.005.399.119
• Total Cost of production = Rp 145.796.716.172
• Sales result = Rp 235.748.957.642
• Net Profit = Rp 58.261.112.170
• Profit Margin (PM) = 24,71%
• Break Even Point (BEP) = 32,67 %
• Return on Investment (ROI) = 23,88%
• Pay Out Time (POT) = 4 year 2 month
• Return on Network (RON) = 39,79%
• Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 29,70%
From the results of the economic, it can be concluded that the factory for
manufacturing oxalic acid dihydrate from sago pulp is feasible to establishe.
