    Abstract
The rapid population growth each year has become one of the factors contributing to the increasing interest of the community in consuming refillable drinking water. However, people still have doubts because there is no clear information regarding the regulatory process and quality, such as physical, chemical, and biological requirements based on the Minister of Health Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2023. This research aims to determine the raw water quality of refillable drinking water and assess the treatment by staff and maintenance of equipment in the refill stations (DAMIU) in the Medan Selayang District. Raw water and resulting water samples from the refill stations were collected and then tested in the laboratory to determine the water quality using parameters such as Total Coliform, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Iron (Fe), Acidity Level (pH), odor, and taste. The results of the raw water quality test showed that all samples met the quality standards, while the results of the refill water quality test indicated that all samples met the quality standards except for the Total Coliform parameter, with only one depot meeting the standards. The questionnaire results regarding the hygiene and sanitation of the refill stations revealed that out of the assessed staff treatment and equipment maintenance in the refill stations, only one DAMIU met the physical and health requirements, one DAMIU did not meet the health requirements, and two other DAMIUs did not meet the physical and health requirements.
