Low back pain (LBP) is a disorder in spinal cord nervous system. The 2020 Global Burden of Disease (GDB) data indicates that the number of low back pain cases worldwide is estimated at 619 millions. CV. Fawas Jaya is an industry that produces cakes and snacks. Cooking is done sitting and slightly standing. According to the result of the survey, the workers compalained about lower back pain. The objectives of this study is to analayze the potential factors to cause complaints of low back pain in the pastry chef of CV. Fawas Jaya Kota Medan. These quatitative research uses cross sectional design and takes all pastry chefs of the company as the sampel, a total of 62 people. Complaints of low back pain are measured using Visual Analog Scale and physical examination in the form of examination of muscle spasm in the lower back, upper limbs and lower legs, followed by a lesegue test. The data analysis is made by apllying univariate analysis, bivariate analysis employing Pearson’s test, and multivariate analysis employing moderated resgression analysis. The result indicate a positive correlation between non ergonomic posture with low back pain (p value <0,05). All interactions between work factors and personal factors (20,3% age,22,5% BMI, 44,8% physical activity and 24,5% work fatigue) as well as that of between repetition and personal factors (21,9% age, 19,8% BMI, 31,6% physical activity and 22,4% work fatigue) result in an increase Rsquare. Personal factors affects work factors (non-ergonomic posture and repetition) indicate by the presence of low back pain complaints, with a significance value <0,05. It is hoped that this research will provide input and consideration to enterpreneurs when designing policies related to occupational health, especially low back pain and can educate wokers about healthy lifestyles and physical activity to minimize the risk of pain.
