    Abstract
    Indonesia is a country with a tropical climate and has a vast plantation and agricultural area, one of the most widely plants is Coconut (Cocos nucifera L.). Coconut processing industry products in Indonesia are still dominated by halffinished products, like copra and coconut oil. Coconut oil is a product from extracting coconut meat. Coconut oil has a high of lauric acid which reaches 51,5%. Lauric acid is a fatty acid which provides good foaming and a natural antimicrobial, so it can be used as a soap material. Soap is one of most important non-food products and often used in human life as skin cleaner. To making soap, consists of two ingredients namely raw material and support material. Raw materials in soap are usually oils or fats and alkaline compounds and supporting ingredients are sodium chloride, sodium carbonate, perfume, and coloring compound. Nowadays, people realize the importance of hygiene to maintain healthy skin. People are starting to know that chemical uses for a long time can give negative impact one skin and not all skin type adapt the chemical used in soap. Preliminary design liquid soap plant from coconut oil using fatty acid neutralization process with capacity 2.700 tons/year. This pre-design plant is planned in Sei Mangkei Special Economic Zone, Bosar Maligas District, Simalungun Regency, Sumatera Utara with land area 11.862 m2 and 180 employees. The planned form of this plant is Limited Liability Company or Perseroan Terbatas (PT) with line and staff organization form. The results of economic analysis of this preliminary design are:  Total Capital Investment : Rp147.427.369.902,00  Total Production Cost : Rp84.873.117.674,00  Sales Result : Rp150.693.419.204,00  Net Profit : Rp45.898.840.016,00  Profit Margin (PM) : 43,46%  Break Even Point (BEP) : 45,74%  Return on Investment (ROI) : 31,13%  Pay Out Time (POT) : 3,21 years  Return on Network (RON) : 51,89%  Internal Rate of Return (IRR) : 44,70% From the results of economic analysis, it can be concluded that this Predesign Plant of Liquid Soap from Coconut Oil Using Fatty Acid Neutralization is feasible to establish.
