Pra-Rancangan Pabrik Karboksimetil Selulosa (CMC) dari Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit dengan Proses Mondal dengan Kapasitas Produksi 4000 Ton/Tahun dan Tugas Khusus Rancangan Keteknikan Reaktor Karboksimetilasi
Abstract
The preliminary plant design of Carboxymethyl cellulose manufacturing
from empty fruit bunches of palm oil has production capacity of 4000 tonnes/year
and 330 days of operation per annum. The main process of this preliminary plant
design consists of three stages, namely raw material pretreatment, the alkalization
and carboxymethyilation stage, and the purification stage. The operating conditions
of alkalization reactor is 30°C temperature, 1 atm pressure and with an hour
retention time. And the operating conditions of carboxymethylation is 55°C
temperature, 1 atm pressure and with an hour retention time. 758,533 kg/hour of
empty fruit bunches of palm oil as raw materials needed to meet the production
capacity.
The specific task was solved for the detailed engineering design
carboxymethylation for esterification reaction.
The planned form of organization of this company is Perseroan Terbatas
(PT) with a line organizational structure and staff, as well as a total of 145
employees. Carboxymethyl cellulose manufacturing plant from empty fruit
bunches of palm oil is planned to be established in Aceh Tamiang Regency with
the total area of the plant area 18.252 m2. 6.998,123 kg/h of water needed
for this plant are supplied from Kreung Tamiang River.
The economic analysis results on this preliminary plant design are as
follows:
1. Capital Investment (CI) = Rp. 339.256.507.501
2. Total cost (TC) = Rp 102.330.363.690
3. Total sales = Rp. 260.000.000.000
4. Net profit = Rp 104.850.308.146
5. Profit margin (PM) = 57,61%
6. Break even point (BEP) = 34,18%
7. Return on investment (ROI) = 33%
8. Pay out time (POT) = 3 tahun
9. Return on network (RON) = 51,51%
10. Internal rate of return (IRR) = 42,39%
Based on the results of economic analysis, it can be concluded that
the carboxymethyl cellulose manufacturing plant using mondal process is feasible
to be established.
