Prarancangan Pabrik Pembuatan Dietanolamida dari Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Olein (RBDPO) dengan Kapasitas Produksi 37.500 Ton/Tahun dan Tugas Khusus Rancangan Keteknikan Detail Reaktor Amidasi
Abstract
The large number of imports of diethanolamide surfactant (DEA) in
Indonesia in 2020 was approached 23,000 tons. Surfactants on the world market
are surfactants produced by petroleum derivatives which are actually toxic to the
environment. On the one hand, Indonesia produced Refined Bleached Deodorized
Palm Olein (RBDPO) in remarkably abundant quantities. The reason of this
condition was Indonesia is the country with the largest palm oil commodity in the
world. RBDPO can be synthesized into ecofriendly DEA surfactant. Therefore, it
is planned to establish a DEA surfactant manufacturing factory using RBDPO and
diethanolamine as feedstocks.
In designing the DEA surfactant plant, the targeted production capacity is to
reach 37,500 tons per annum (TPA) with an operating time of 300 days a year. In
the DEA synthesis stage through the amidation reaction stage, continuous stirred
tank reactor (CSTR) unit was used with a heating coil operating at a temperature
of 75 oC for 55 minutes. The amount of RBDPO required to achieve annual
production capacity is 4.185,590 kg/hour or 30.136,248 tons/year.
The specific assignment that has been completed is the design of an
amidation reactor which has been simulated and optimized for its design volume
with the specifications obtained:
Volume : 507,195 m3
Reactor height : 6,9791 m
Diameter : 4,2672 m
Wall thickness : 0,3125 in
Stirrer power : 36 hp
Spiral diameter : 1,9507 m
Coil diameter : 0,1143 m
Coil length : 34,9639 m
The planned plant location is in Pinang Sebatang Tim Village, Tualang
District, Siak Regency, Riau Province with an area of 26,402 m2. The workforce
required is 250 people in the form of a Limited Liability Company or Perseroan
Terbatas (PT) with a line and staff organizational structure.
The results of the economic evaluation of the plant for making
diethanolamide from RBDPO and diethanolamine are as follows:
• Capital Investment (CI) : Rp 1.234.162.074.054
• Total Cost (TC) : Rp 810.050.451.409
• Profit Margin (PM) : 23,920%
• Break Even Point (BEP) : 42,663%
• Return on Investment (ROI) : 20,202%
• Return On Network (RON) : 33,671%
• Pay Out Time (POT) : 4 years, 11 months
• Internal Rate of Return (IRR) : 17,397%
From the results of the economic evaluation and analysis, it can be
concluded that the preliminary plant design for making diethanolamide from
RBDPO is feasible to be established.
