Analisis Perbandingan Keamanan Jaringan Fiber Optik dengan Metode Optical Steganography dan Metode Optical Encryption
Abstract
Communication technology has developed very rapidly today. Communication technology through optical fiber is one of the technologies that is widely used in the data transmission process because it uses light as a transmission medium so that it can transmit data in a very short time. In transmission data, a data security technique is needed so that the data is safe when it is transmitted. If fiber optic network got attacked, the data received would be much different from the actual data sent by the transmitter. Therefore, it could be quite dangerous when the data being sent requires confidential information. The examples of methods that can be used in securing fiber optic networks are Optical Steganography and Optical Encryption. The method of Optical Steganography is to hide the signal on the public channel. Meanwhile the method of Optical Encryption is encoding the signal. Both of these methods can be applied to OptiSystem software. The research shows that the Optical Encryption method has a better reliability compared to Optical Steganography with a value of Q-Factor is 14,65 and a value of BER is 6,55 x 10-49. Based on the Q-Factor value, Optical Encryption is 16,3% better than Optical Steganography and 90,4% better than the design without security.
