    Abstract
    Acetanilide is an aromatic acetyl amine derivative compound which is classified as a primary amide, where one hydrogen atom in aniline is replaced with an acetyl group. Acetinilide is a white granular form that is insoluble in paraffin oil and dissolves in water with the help of anhydrous chloral. produced either by the acetylation process. Due to its industrial value, interest in acetanilide has increased in recent years. The pre-designed acetanilide manufacturing plant is planned to have a production capacity of 7,100 tons/year and operate for 330 days a year. In the pre-design of the factory for making acetanilide with acetic acid and aniline as raw materials through a distillation column purification process with a capacity of 7,100 tons/year using two core processes and one purification process, namely the raw material pretreatment process, the acetylation reaction process, the crystallization and purification process of acetanilide . The design of the main process equipment determined in the pre-design of the factory for making acetanilide using acetic acid and aniline as raw materials through the acetylation process, namely:: 1. Acetylation Reactor a) Reactor temperature: 150 °C b) Reactor pressure: 1 atm c) Conversion: 99.5% 2. Distillation Column (a) Temperature : 175 °C b) Pressure: 1 atm c) Conversion of acetanilide: 99.6% 3. Kristalizer (a) Temperature : 60 °C b) Pressure: 1 atm The planned factory location is at the factory location in Pinang Sebatang Tim, Tualang District, Siak Regency, Riau Province with an area of 11,872.4 m2. The workforce required is 304 people in the form of a Limited Liability Company (PT) under the leadership of a director. The results of the economic evaluation of the Acetanilide Manufacturing Plant from Acetic Acid and Aniline are as follows: • Total Investment Capital: Rp. 1,457,559,583,058.9,- • Total Production Cost: Rp. 343,981,178,493.8,- • Sales Proceeds: Rp. 1,156,999,924,080.0,- • Net Profit: Rp. 563,151,758,549.0,- • Profit Margin (PM): 99,50 % • Break Even Point (BEP): 16,35 % • Return on Investment (ROI): 38,64 % • Pay Out Time (POT): 2.58 years • Return on Network (RON): 64,39 % • Internal Rate of Return (IRR): 41,2791 % From the results of the economic evaluation it can be concluded that the Acetanilide Manufacturing Factory from Acetic Acid and Aniline is feasible to be established.
