Drainage means flowing, draining, discarding, or displacing water. In general, drainage is defined as a series of water buildings that serve to reduce and/or remove excess water from an area or land so that the land can function optimally. In an urban area, the drainage issue is quite complex; therefore, for the planning and construction of waterways for urban drainage, its success depends on the ability of the respective planners and requires cooperation between several experts in other related fields. It must be acknowledged that the growth and development of urban drainage science was influenced by the development of hydraulic science, mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, computing, and even economic and socio-cultural sciences as its first birthplace. When dominated by hydrology, hydraulics, soil mechanics, land measurement, and mathematics, the study of urban drainage science continues to use statistical concepts.en_US
