Analisis Kinerja Wi-Fi Extender ESP8266 untuk Akses Internet (Hotspot) dari Luar Ruangan
Abstract
Wi-Fi (Wireless Fidelity) is a fast, reliable and economical internet access. Wi-Fi networks are often place inside buildings and are sometimes able to reach outside the building. However, for the condition of a building with good signal strength. This study aims to analyze the performance of the solar-powered Wi-Fi extender Modul ESP 8266. The performance parameters discussed are power consumption, signal strength, range and number of users. The data analyzed are signal strength in the Wi-Fi network analyzer application and throughput in the Wireshark application. The results show that the Wi-Fi extender ESP 8266 is able to reach a distance of 25 meters with good signal quality at -69 dBm. As for the range of more than 30 meters, signal quality has become quite bad. Based on the throughput test result at a distance of 5 meters, the throughput on the Wi-Fi extender network is in the very good category which meets the requirements of TIPHON >2.1 Mbps.
