dc.description.abstract | Water is one of the sources of life for living things. Water has many benefits, one of which is a source of energy for power plants. Rainwater that has been collected in a container is flowed through a pipe to the turbine by adjusting the required head height. Under these circumstances, many small-scale generating technologies have been developed, commonly known as Pico Hydro Power Plants. There are several types of turbines that can be applied to Pico Hydro Power Plants, one of which is the pelton turbine. This study aims to produce a pico hydro power plant using a pelton turbine. The holding tank used in this study has a capacity of 200 liters. The working principle of this tool is to utilize the water that has been collected and the height of the North Sumatra Electrical Engineering Masters building as a water flow using a pipe. The water flow from the pipe flows into the pelton turbine and moves the pelton turbine so that it rotates the generator through the shaft connected to the clutch. Mechanical energy from the shaft is converted into electrical energy by the generator. Based on the results obtained, at a water head height of 14m with a gear ratio of 1: 2 and a water discharge capacity of 0.625 liters/secon, the highest result is using a variation of 2 turbines which produces 6.524 watts of generator power and 375.2 RPM generator rotational speed with a voltage coming out of the generator is 11.65 volts. | en_US |
