dc.description.abstractCarbon Disulfide is a chemical compound that has many uses in the chemical industry and human life. Carbon Disulfide with the chemical formula CS2 is commonly used in the chemical industry such as the manufacture of rayon fiber, plastics, flotation agents, vulcanization accelerators, fungicides and pesticides. The pre-designed carbon disulfide manufacturing plant is designed with a production capacity of 28,000 tons/year using charcoal and sulfur raw materials. In the pre-design of this plant, there are three main processes, namely the preparation of raw materials, the reaction process and the product purification process. The product produced in this pre-designed plant is carbon disulfide in the liquid phase. The company in this pre-design was planned to form a Limited Liability Company (PT) using a line and staff organizational structure. The total workforce in this factory is 180 people. The factory location is planned to be in the area of Asahan Regency, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia with a total land area of 24,488.88 m2. Water needs at this plant are planned to be obtained from the Asahan River with a total water requirement of 3,668.502 kg/hour. The results of the economic analysis of the pre-design of this plant are as follows: • Total investment capital = Rp 798.460.188.318,11 • Production cost (per year) = Rp 735.966.473.043,51 • Sales result (per year) = Rp 1.024.979.177.585,37 • Net profit (per year) = Rp 201.352.348.713,41 • Profit Margin (PM) = 28,056% • Break Event Point (BEP) = 31,152% • Return on Investment (ROI) = 25,218% • Pay Out Time (POT) = 3,965 year • Return on Network (RON) = 63,044% • Internal Rate of Return (IRR) = 25,704% From the results of the economic evaluation, it can be concluded that the Pre-Design for Manufacturing Carbon Disulfide from Wood Charcoal and Sulfur is feasible to establish.en_US
