Evaluasi dan Pengembangan Kandang Black Soldier Fly (S00202112437) untuk Mengolah Sampah Makanan
Abstract
Rapid population growth and demographic changes as well as people's consumptive habits
pose new challenges to solid waste management. One of the impacts of high population growth
is the emergence of high waste generation. One alternative that can be used to reduce waste
generation is to use Black Soldier Fly (BSF) larvae as bioconversion agents for solid organic
waste. The purpose of this study is to determine the performance of BSF cages and to determine
the results of the dev elopment of BSF cage design. The organic waste used in this study is food
waste. Food waste as much as 0.5 m 3 will be processed using 8 bioponds. The research was
conducted by measuring temperature, humidity, light intensity and evaluating each BSF cage
un it. The results of this study are in the measurement of light in the larval unit light intensity is
at 200 lux and 2 lux, the results of the measurement of humidity feeding shows 60% 80% and
the results of measuring the temperature is 28 o C 30 o C. The re commended volume of waste in
the larval unit is 2.25 kg and the recommended volume of the redesigned biopond is 0.1079 m 3
