dc.description.abstractBio Oil is a liquid fuel made from biomass to be used as an alternative energy to replace petroleum fuel. Bio oil as fuel can be processed into other biofuel products such as biodiesel and biokerosene which can be used as a substitute for diesel fuel to be applied as vehicle fuel. The pre designed factory for making bio oil from empty palm fruit fruit bunches is designed with a production capacity of 10,000 tons/year and operates 330 days a year. The factory location is planned to be in Batubara Regency, North Sumatra. The aim of designing a bio oil plant is to apply chemical engineering knowledge which includes mass balance, energy balance, equipment specifications, chemical engineering operations, utilities and other parts of chemical engineerin g, as well as to meet the need for environmentally friendly alternative fuels. Total investment capital : Rp 210.766.975.273 Production cost : Rp 27.405.262.162 Sales results : Rp 59.937.312.154 Net profit : Rp 32.694.049.418 Profit margin : 49,37% Break even point : 31,68% Return on investment : 52,66% Pay out time : 1 Tahun 8 Bulan Return on network : 25,85% Internal rate of return : 16,11% From the results of the analysis of economic aspects it can be concluded that a factory for making bio oil from empty oil palm fruit bunches through a fast pyrolysis process is feasible to establish establish.en_US
