dc.description.abstract | A cat (Felis catus) is a small carnivorous mammal that is usually kept as a pet
inside the house. The most common problem faced by cat owners is feeding. Some cat
owners have very busy daily schedules. So this study aims to design an automatic cat
feeding monitoring system that can be monitored in realtime through an android
application. An automatic cat dry feeding system was designed to ensure that the cat's
needs are fulfilled without the presence of the owner.
By considering factors such as cat weight, temperature, cage humidity and cat
feed humidity, it is expected that the certainty of cat feed will be more guaranteed. To
calculate the influence of these factors, the fuzzy logic method is used so that the optimal
value of feeding decisions can be obtained based on the consideration of these factors. In
this study, the application of a fuzzy logic system for determining feeding will be carried
out by considering these factors using the MATLAB application, which is then applied to
automatic cat feeding devices.
From the test results, it was found that the success rate of the tool was 93.16% and
the error was 6.84%. Errors in the tool are caused by the mechanical system in the servo
motor and the potential force of the fall of feed into the feed container. The design results
show that the automatic cat dry feed monitoring system with the fuzzy logic method can
work effectively and efficiently without having to be attended by the owner. | en_US |
