dc.description.abstract | Electrical energy is the most important thing for human being in order to improves many aspects. Electrical energy demand that increasing year by year insist the government to establishing more power plant. The utilization of wind energy is still low in Indonesia because of lack of knowledge about wind energy as an alternative energy. The fluctuation of wind speed becomes community considerations to construct small scale of wind power plant. In this study the author will conduct an analysis of the experimental application of the flywheel in a small-scale wind power plant, the flywheel used has a diameter of 22 cm and a mass of 6 Kg with a fluctuating wind supply ranging from 2 m/s, 2.5 m/s, 3 m/s, 3.5 m/s and 4.13 m/s. The results of the analysis in this study show that the use of the flywheel can maintain the generator rotation for about 142 seconds with a wind speed of 4.13 m/s, the flywheel can maintain the generator rotation with an average duration of 17.58 seconds per every 1 m/s decrease in wind speed. The lower the wind speed supply, the longer the starting duration of the system, there is a 10.03% extension of the starting duration or around 11 seconds for every 1 m/s decrease in wind speed. the torque generated by the flywheel has a significant effect on the output power of the generator, a decrease for every 1 m/s wind speed will result in a decrease of around 21.28% of the generator output power for every 10.04% decrease in torque. | en_US |
