The development of epoxy resin insulators is increasing due to their better electrical properties compared to glass and porcelain insulators. However, there are still weaknesses in these epoxy resin insulators, such as a tendency to crack or break and relatively high manufacturing costs. One way to enhance the quality of insulators while reducing manufacturing costs is by adding fillers to the insulating material, such as silicone rubber, Al2O3 nanoparticles, and silica sand. This research investigates the electrical characteristics of insulators, namely resistivity and dielectric strength, as well as the mechanical characteristics, specifically compressive strength, in 10 test samples. The resin materials used include epoxy resin A as the base material and epoxy resin B as the hardener, with a ratio of 30%:30%. They are mixed with a filler in various compositions totaling 40%. The results show that the highest resistivity value is found in sample code S4 with a composition of 30% epoxy resin A, 30% epoxy resin B, 10% silicone rubber, and 30% Al2O3 nanoparticles, measuring 71.778 GΩ for surface resistivity and 0.716 GΩm for volume resistivity. The highest dielectric strength value is observed in test sample S4 with a composition of 30% epoxy resin A, 30% epoxy resin B, 10% silicone rubber, and 30% Al2O3 nanoparticles, measuring 132.6 kV. The highest compressive strength value is recorded in test sample S8 with a composition of 30% epoxy resin A, 30% epoxy resin B, 10% silicone rubber, 10% Al2O3 nanoparticles, and 20% silica sand, measuring 60 MPa.en_US
