dc.description.abstract | Landslide is a mass movement of rock or soil that occurs on a slope due to
the influence of gravity. Padang Lawas Regency is one of the areas prone to
landslides and has morphological conditions in the form of plains with hills with
altitudes ranging from 0 - 1,915 meters above sea level. One of the efforts made to
minimize the occurrence of landslides that can cause casualties is to conduct a study
of potential landslide areas by utilizing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and
Satellite Images.
The mapping of landslide prone areas in this study was conducted in Padang
Lawas Regency with the estimation model referring to the Ministerial Regulation
of the Department of Public Works No. 22 Year 2007. It is explained that one of
the aspects that cause landslides is human activities, namely cropping patterns,
excavation and slope cutting, pond printing, drainage, construction development,
population density, and mitigation efforts. Landslide vulnerability mapping using
Geographic Information System (GIS) was conducted by scoring, weighting, and
overlaying methods between the constituent parameters using QGIS software.
From the results of QGIS software processing, 3 (three) levels of
vulnerability risk were obtained. For risks with a low level of vulnerability of
33.290% or an area of 1320.485 km2 , a medium level of vulnerability of 66.682%
or an area of 2645.058 km2 , and for a high level of vulnerability of 0.028% or an
area of 1.096 km2 . | en_US |
