dc.description.abstractThis research aims to gain benefits from making heavy equipment (dump trucks & excavators) used in excavation and embankment work on the Binjai - Langsa toll road project more efficient. This research also aims to determine what influences can speed up excavation and embankment work on the Binjai - Langsa Toll Road project. This research is precisely at STA 53 + 000 - 56 + 000. This research uses analytical methods. The heavy equipment cycle time obtained in the field is then analyzed to obtain the productivity used in order to make heavy equipment efficient according to the productivity it should be. This research also analyzes what influences cause a decrease in the productivity of the heavy equipment used. Apart from that, this research also determines an efficient combination of heavy equipment to gain benefits for the project. The research results show that heavy equipment productivity in the field can be increased by minimizing the influences that contribute to the lack of heavy equipment productivity. The productivity results obtained also change the combination of heavy equipment that is efficient for excavation and embankment work in the field. The number of dump trucks that should be used for this work is four units. Factors that influence reduced productivity are: delays in heavy equipment operators starting work and the position of the dump truck when loading. Excavator productivity per unit is 205.16 m3/hour and dump truck productivity per unit is 109.27 m3/hour.en_US
