    Abstract
    The running induction motor with several types of mechanical loads can increase the temperature overly to the Thermal Overload Relay set point in the circuit. As Thermal Overload Relay senses heat buildup over a period of time, the performance of the panel circuit is shut down by the relay. Similarly, when there is a current increase that causes the overheating condition in induction motor exceeding the maximum heat limit, the electrical connection in the panel circuit is disconnected quickly by a relay of Thermometer Controller. The results of the trip time comparison test were obtained , with the increase in current reaching Iset x 1.5, Iset x 2, Iset x 2.5 and Iset x 3.For Iset 1.6 A the trip time is obtained when Iset x 1.5 = 177 seconds, Iset x 2 = 59 seconds, Iset x 2.5 = 34 seconds and Iset x 3 = 21 seconds. For Iset 2 A, trip time is obtained when Iset x 1.5 = 174 seconds, Iset x 2 = 56 seconds, Iset x 2.5 = 32 seconds and Iset x 3 = 19 seconds. For Iset 2.5 A the trip time is obtained when Iset x 1.5 = 173 seconds, Iset x 2 = 54 seconds, Iset x 2.5 = 31 seconds and Iset x 3 = 17 seconds. Rated load current (IL) and the magnitude of the setting (Iset) greatly affects the trip time on the Thermal Overload Relay.
