    Abstract
Profit sharing between the owners of capital and those who run the business has been practiced for a long time. The practice of profit sharing is an activity that is also carried out in Siumbut Baru Village, East Kisaran District and Sidomukti Village, West Kisaran District, Asahan Regency. The production sharing of goats is a habit that has been passed down from generation to generation. The problems of this research are the form of profit sharing agreement in goat raising, the rights and obligations of the parties in goat rearing and legal protection if one party fails to make a default in goat raising in Kisaran city, Asahan Regency. This type of research is empirical law, namely empirical legal research that examines laws that are conceptualized as real behavior, which is experienced by everyone in social life. The object of research in Siumbut Baru Village, Kota Kisaran Timur Subdistrict and Sidomukti Village, Kota Kisaran Barat Subdistrict, Asahan Regency, is related to the profit sharing agreement (maro) in goat rearing. The results showed that the form of profit-sharing agreement in raising goats in Siumbut Baru Village, Kota Kisaran Timur District and Sidomukti Village, Kota Kisaran Barat District, Asahan Regency, was based on local customary law and was made orally. The rights and obligations of the goat owner are obliged to provide and submit 100% (one hundred percent) capital and the goat owner has the right to get his investment back from the profit sharing. The rights and obligations of the goat freeman are to take good care of the goats that have been entrusted to him to be cared for and are obliged to take care of the goats entrusted to him in accordance with the agreed profit sharing agreement. Legal protection in the agreement for the production of goats, goat owners can claim compensation in the maintenance of goats if the object of the agreement dies due to intentional or negligence of the hawkers when raising goats. Angon workers cannot be sued for compensation if the goat in maintenance dies due to disease outbreaks or natural disasters (force majeure). It is recommended that the legal protection should be clearer and firmer in the profit-sharing agreement (maro) in the maintenance of goats by making a written agreement
