Hubungan Penggunaan Ekstrak Ikan Gabus dan Diet Sonde terhadap Profil Kadar Albumin Serum dan Lingkar Lengan Atas pada Pasien Rawatan ICU di RSUP Haji Adam Malik

Abstract

Introduction Malnutrition is very common in critically ill patients admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU), and it is important to strengthen nutritional support for patients in intensive care. Enteral nutrition is the first choice of nutritional support for critica lly ill patients. In critically ill patients, early enteral nutrition is essential to restore normal intestinal permeability, prevent intestinal infections and intestinal failure, and improve the patient's clinical condition. One of the nutritional element s that need to be monitored is the body's albumin level. Methods This study used an experimental design by administering snakehead fish extract (Channa striata) and sonde diet (enteral nutrition) to ICU patients at HAM Hospital. This study was conducted b y examining albumin and measuring upper arm circumference in intubated sepsis patients and ICU care patients Results There were 20 samples which included inclusion and exclusion criteria. In this study, patients with sepsis found albumin levels were still in the below normal range with an average value of 2.85 g/dl on the first day and lower results on day 14 of treatment. This was also conveyed in previous studies which found low albumin levels. ie <3.5 g/dl in other critically ill patients Conclusion In this study, there was no significant difference in albumin levels and upper arm circumference in the sonde diet and sonde diet with snakehead fish extract
