This study aimed to analyze the medical record storage system at the Regional General Hospital Dr. RM. Djoelham Binjai. The research used a descriptive, qualitative approach. Determination of informants in this study was using purposive sampling. Data collection was carried out by utilizing observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques applied in this study were data reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that the medical record storage system analysis at the Dr. RM Regional General Hospital Djoelham Binjai has four categories based on the Guidelines for the Organization and Procedure of Hospital Medical Records in Indonesia published by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. 1) The method of storing medical records used by the Dr. RM Regional General Hospital is a decentralized storage system. The obstacles faced by the hospital with the implementation of the decentralized storage system are that the system implemented is not in accordance with existing standards. 2) The alignment system is a direct number system following existing standards. 3) The medical record storage room facilities are inadequate because the lighting in the storage room is around 95 lux, the temperature of the storage room reaches 28oC, and the humidity of the storage room is around 70%. It can be seen that the lighting, temperature, and humidity of the medical record storage room do not meet the 2019 Ministry of Health RI standards. The size of the storage room area, reaching 17 m2 has met the 2010 Ministry of Health RI standards. The distance between storage shelves, namely 33 cm, 54 cm, and 55 cm, does not meet the 2006 Ministry of Health RI standards. 4) Working conditions and safety regulations for medical record storage officers are not available in the medical record file storage room of the Dr. RM Regional General Hospital Djoelham Binjai, so there are still accidents of officers at work so that it does not meet the 2006 Ministry of Health RI standards. This study concludes that the medical record storage system used by the hospital is a decentralized system, and the alignment system used is a direct number system. The storage room facilities include storage shelves, air conditioning, and lights, and the unavailability of work safety regulations for medical record storage officers.en_US
