Abstract

This written Project was written at the Library and Archives Office of North Sumatra Province. The purpose of this paper is to find out the management of inactive dynamic archives at the Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province. Data collection methods used are observation, interviews, documentation and literature review. The results of this study explain that the management of inactive dynamic archives at the Library and Archives Service of North Sumatra Province is 1) Inactive archive storage includes sorting archives, describing archives, maneuvering archives, giving definitive numbers, wrapping archives, and storing them in boxes. 2) Maintenance of inactive archives includes activities using camphor. 3) Depreciation of inactive archives includes activities to take messy archives, re-create lists of inactive archives, make minutes of archive transfers. 4) The destruction of inactive archives includes the activities of forming a committee/team, selecting archives, list of proposed destruction, approval for destruction, minutes of destruction, execution of destruction.
