Keanekaragaman Jenis Fungi pada Proses Dekomposisi iiSerasah Daun Rhizophora apiculata di Pulau Sembilan iiKecamatan Pangkalan Susu Kabupaten Langkat
Abstract
Rhizophora apiculata is a mangrove that grows in coastal areas affected by seawater. The decomposed leaf litter of R. apiculata has an important role in providing the organic resources needed by microorganisms and other organisms to grow and develop in their habitat. Fungi are one of the microorganisms that have an important role in accelerating the decomposition process. This research was conducted to inventory the species of fungi in the decomposition process of R. apiculata leaf litter, calculate the decomposition rate of R. apiculata litter, and calculate the carbohydrate and protein content contained in the decomposed R. apiculata litter. This research method uses litter bags to store leaf litter, which will be isolated and the rate of decomposition calculated. This research was conducted for 6 months (June–December 2022). The results showed that there were 11 species of fungi found in R. apiculata leaf litter. The decomposition rate of R. apiculata leaf litter was 0.13 g/day. The average percentage of carbohydrate content contained in R. apiculata litter is 8.78%, and the average protein content is 5.45%.
