Mangrove forests are biological natural resources that have various capabilities that share benefits for human life either directly or indirectly. Mangrove forests in North Sumatra are located along the east coast with an area of 199,478 hectares. Dogang Village has a mangrove forest area of 75 hectares and is the area with the most damaged mangrove forest land in North Sumatra, which is about 40% or an area of 30 hectares. The density of a type is a value that indicates the number or number of a type per unit area. The greater the density of a type, the more individuals of that type per unit area. This research aims to obtain density level data, farmer group perception data, and analyze the relationship between participation of tourism aware forest farmer group members in mangrove forest conservation in Dogang Village, Gebang District. The research will be conducted from January 2023 to April 2023. Research activities in the form of sampling vegetation analysis and questionnaire information collection were carried out in the mangrove forest of Dogang Village, Gebang District. The results of the research obtained the density of mangrove forests in Dogang Village, Gebang District, showed that the density level of mangrove forests was in good condition with medium criteria with a figure of 1,177 ind / ha. Based on the results, the percentage of the three indicators is 85.5% fall into the category of agree. Based on the perception, all members of the group agreed to carry out mangrove forest conservation activities in Dogang Village, Gebang District. Results of the participation of members of the mangrove tourism aware forest farmer group in efforts to preserve mangrove forests have been carried out by planting mangrove forests by the community with the NGO Yakopi. Tourist attractions have been formed called doremi river, as well as changes in marine life that are very developed around the mangrove forest area in Dogang Village, Gebang District.
