dc.description.abstractThe Food Estate Program is a solution based on the concept of food security through good practices in agriculture or plantations. The food ingredients referred to here are agricultural products, Vegetables and animals where the most prominent and most important existence is staple food. Forests that will be prohibited from being implemented in an arbitrary manner sustainable and efficient. The development that will be carried out in this forest must also be a sustainable development. The food estate is located in Ria-ria Village, Pollung District, Humbahas with an altitude between 1000-1500 meters above sea level. The food estate was inaugurated by President Joko Widodo on 27 October 2020 which focused on the development of horticultural food crops (shallots, garlic and potatoes). The food estate has an area of 215 ha. Regulations related to social forestry management provide an opportunity for communities that already have social forestry management permits/approvals to utilize forest areas reserved for FOOD ESTATE development. This study aims to determine the effect of the farming system directly on the welfare of farmers and the farming system on the welfare of farmers through increasing the institutional capacity of farmers. The method used in this study is the SEM Analysis Method using the Smart PLS software. The results obtained are significant results to have a direct effect on the farming system on the welfare of farmers. On the other hand, the results from the SEM analysis of the farming system on the welfare of farmers through increasing the institutional capacity of farmers also obtained significant results. Therefore, both the Farming Business System, Farmer Institutional Capacity Building, and Farmer Welfare have an influence on each other and need to improve in the future.en_US
