Pengaruh Media Tanam terhadap Kandungan Flavonoid,Klorofil, dan Karotenoid pada Microgreens Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.)
Abstract
Pakcoy microgreens contain several compounds including chlorophyll,
carotenoids, flavonoids and phenolics. The composition of growing media has an
influence to support the growth and bioactive content of microgreens pakcoy.
Microgreens can be grown in various media such as soil media such as husk
charcoal, cocopeat, and others. This research was conducted from March 8 to
March 31, 2023 in the yard of Taman Setia Budi Indah complex for growth and
yield stages, Chlorophyll analysis, Carotenoids, in the Plant Disease Laboratory,
Faculty of Agriculture and Flavonoid analysis was carried out at the
Phytochemical Laboratory, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of North Sumatra,
Medan. This study used a non-factorial group randomized design with the
composition of planting media with five treatment levels, namely control, top soil:
husk charcoal, top soil: cocopeat, top soil: eggshell, top soil: husk charcoal:
cocopeat with five replications. Parameters measured were plant wet weight,
flavonoid compound content, chlorophyll and karetonoid content. The results
showed that the planting media significantly influenced the increase in wet
weight, flavonoid content, chlorophyll a content, chlorophyll b content and
carotenoid content, but did not significantly affect the number of leaves and total
chlorophyll content. Top soil planting media mixed with husk charcoal had a
significant effect on chlorophyll a and carotenoid content and top soil planting
media mixed with cocopeat had a significant effect on chlorophyll b and flavonoid
content of Microgreens Pakchoy
