| dc.description.abstract | Non-timber forest products that can be utilized, one of which is the gambier plant. Gambier can be used as a complement to betel nut and medicines. Gambir in Dairi Regency, North Sumatra Province has not been optimally optimized, this is due to the lack of knowledge of gambir farmers regarding the use of gambir and the limited processing equipment for gambir which is still simple. The problem for farmers in the gambier business is the low price of gambir products, which is around Rp. 1.500 per seed and there is also no standard at price. This study aims to analyze the potential, marketing and feasibility contribution of Gambir HHBK in Dairi Regency. Data collection was done by interview using a questionnaire. Respondents were collected using the census method for farmers. The results of the study show that the economic value of Gambier is Rp. 2.848.800.000/ year or Rp. 237.400.000/ month. There are two marketing chains for gambier in Dairi Regency. Gambir production in Dairi Regency is declared feasible to run because the production is greater than the production BEP and the price is greater than the price BEP and the R/C ratio obtained is greater than 1, which is equal to 4,456. The location of gambier production in Dairi district is centered in Silima Pungga-pungga sub-district, precisely in Bongkaras village and Berampu sub-district in the Sambaliang village. From the results of this study it was found that in order to increase the economic value and price of gambier, it is necessary to form farmer groups so that the introduction and marketing of gambir can be increased evenly according to standards and price provisions, as well as improve the quality of gambier through additional treatment of gambier plants in order to obtain the best quality gambier products | en_US |
