Analisis Strategi Promosi Kesehatan terhadap Partisipasi Masyarakat dalam Pencegahan Stunting pada Ibu yang Memiliki Balita di Kecamatan Bangun Purba

Abstract

Stunting is a growth disorder in toddlers due to chronic malnutrition and

recurrent infections. It is, thus, included in the goals of SDGs with a target of

achieving 14 percent in 2024. Therefore efforts are required to increase

community participation in preventing stunting in toddlers and the strategy that

can be taken is to implement strategies of health promotion maximally. Bangun

Purba Subdistrict has been included in the locus of stunting since 2020. This

research aims to analyze strategies of health promotion (advocacy, partnerships

and community empowerment) for community participation in preventing stunting

for mothers with toddlers in Bangun Purba Subdistrict. This is a mixed research

method type with a sequential explanatory design and a quantitative approach by

interviewing 131 respondents and a qualitative approach with in-depth interviews

with 10 informants. Data analysis is performed with univariate, bivariate and

multivariate analysis using logistic regression test. The results show that 49.6% of

the public stated that advocacy is in the poor category and that there is an effect

of advocacy on community participation, (p=0.046). However, the implementation

of advocacy has been good enough, namely with commitment and public support

from the Government of Deli Serdang. 72.2% of the community stated that

partnerships are in poor category and there is an effect of partnerships on

community participation (p=0.042), this is because the partnership in stunting

prevention has not been maximized as seen that meeting implementation and

dissemination of information are rarely carried out 72.5% of the community

stated that community empowerment in poor category and there is an effect of

community empowerment on community participation (p=0.038), this is because

the activities carried out had not been running actively. Variable of community

empowerment has the greatest effect on community participation (OR=0.536). It

is hoped that the Government of Bangun Purba Subdistrict is able to increase

advocacy activities in order to obtain policy support in the form of regional

regulations, further enhance partnerships to obtain social support from across

sectors and further enhance guidance on community empowerment activities that

have been formed.
