Pengaruh Lama Perendaman terhadap Pematahan Dormansi Benih Jabon Merah (Anthocephalus macrophyllus)
Abstract
Anthocephalus macrophyllus is a fast-growing plant. Red jabon is a woody plant whose trunk shape is straight, almost unbranched and is widely used as a shade tree, roadside decoration, and reforestation activities. The hard membrane owned by jabon seeds becomes an obstacle to germination that occurs so that treatment is needed to soften the membrane on the seed, namely by soaking. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of soaking duration on dormancy in red jabon seeds. The design used is a non-factorial complete random design. The treatment given is the length of soaking seeds using hot water consisting of 0 hours (P1), 8 hours (P2), 12 hours (P3), 16 hours (P4), and 24 hours (P5) with 3 repeats. Based on the results of the study, the highest number of germinated seeds was in the soaking treatment for 24 hours, which was 10 seeds. The results also showed that A. macrophyllus seeds have the best and lowest treatment of
A. macrophyllus seed germination is soaking seeds with water for 24 hours and 0 hours with germination power of 0,305% and 0,047%, as well as germination values that provide the best and lowest results for seed germination A. macrophyllus is soaking seeds with water for 24 hours and 16 hours at 0,022% and 0,001%.
