Keanekaragaman dan Morfologi Durian (Durio sp.) Lokal di Wilayah KPHP IX Panyabungan, Kabupaten Mandailing Natal, Provinsi Sumatera Utara

Abstract

Forest Management Unit Region IX is an Forest Management Unit located in North Sumatra, this Forest Management Unit has a very abundant variety of local durians. Information about the diversity of local durian in an area can support conservation efforts in preserving or protecting the diversity of local durian. This study aims to determine the types of local durian found in the Production Forest Management Unit IX Panyabungan area, to determine the morphological characterization of the local durian found in the Production Forest Management Unit IX Panyabungan area, and to find out the description of local durian according to people's perceptions in the Production Forest Management Unit IX Panyabungan area. The FGD (Focus Group Discussion) method was used to collect data, namely by discussing with several selected informants several questions that had been prepared previously, then the questions were developed to obtain deeper information and information. The morphological data analysis method was performed using the NTSYSpc (Numerical Taxonomy and Multivariate Analysis) program NTSYSpc version 2.02. The results showed that there were 25 local durian types of Durio zibethinus and 1 local durian type of Durio oxyelanus with different morphological characters and descriptions according to the views of the local community. In the results of cluster analysis with reference to the results of observations of morphological characters, it was concluded that the 26 types of local durian had a coefficient value of 40%, which means they have low similarity but have high diversity.
