Respon Pertumbuhan True Shallot Seed Tiga Varietas Bawang Merah (Allium ascalonicum L.) terhadap Aplikasi Giberelin di Kabupaten Langkat
Abstract
Shallots (Allium ascalonicum L.) is a horticultural commodity that has
long been cultivated by farmers because it has many benefits in terms of
economics and nutritional content. One of the problems with propagating plants
by seed is that they have low growth capacity. Efforts to increase the germination
carrying capacity of the growth and productivity of shallot plants in Langkat
Regency are through the use of adaptive varieties and the application of
gibberellins. This research aims to determine the growth response of three shallot
varieties from TSS to location-specific gibberellin administration in Langkat
Regency. This research was carried out on land in Purwobinangun Village, Sei
Bingai District, Langkat Regency at an altitude of ± 75 meters above sea level
starting from April 2023 to August 2023. The design used in this research was
prepared in a Factorial Randomized Block Design consisting of 3 replications
with 2 treatment factors. The first factor is the shallot variety with 3 levels,
namely the Sanren Variety (V1), Lokananta Variety (V2) and Maserati Variety
(V3). The second factor is gibberellin which consists of 4 levels, namely without
gibberellin (K0), 50 ppm gibberellin (K1), 100 ppm gibberellin (K2), and 150
ppm gibberellin (K3). The research results showed that different variety
treatments had a significant effect on the germination percentage. Different
gibberellin concentration treatments had a significant effect on germination
percentage, plant height at 8 MSPT, number of leaves per hill at 8 MSPT, harvest
age, tuber wet weight and tuber dry weight. The interaction of different varietal
treatments and gibberellin concentrations had a significant effect on germination
percentage and plant height at 8 MSPT.
