Karakteristik Biochar dalam Ketersediaan P pada Tanah Andisol

Abstract

This study aims to determine the characteristics of several types of biochar in determining the availability of P in andisol soil. This research was conducted at the Soil Fertility Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra from March to August 2023. This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with the treatment factor of the type of biochar raw material and with 3 replicates. The treatment factors are (B0) control, (BT) oil palm empty fruit bunch biochar (TKKS) and (BK) goat manure biochar. The parameters observed were biochar characteristics by analyzing Fourier Transform Electron Spectroscopy (FTIR), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Scanning Electron Microscope- Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX) and Brunaeur Emmet Teller (BET), as well as soil pH analysis, soil C-organic, and soil P-availability in andisol soil. The results showed that the application of oil palm empty fruit bunches (TKKS) biochar and goat manure biochar significantly increased andisol soil pH, andisol soil C-organic, and andisol soil P-availability
